The Value of Community – Looking Back at the Last 12 Months

It’s been just over a year since GFS started connecting with people using social media like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. In that short time, we’ve learned a few things about the real value of our community.

GFS has always prided itself on having the best people, the best distributors, and the best industry partners. They’ve helped us get to where we are today, as the world leaders in paint booths and finishing systems. But one thing that we’ve come to recognize over the last twelve months is that we really do have the best community as well. End-users, enthusiasts, technicians, service people, educators, and consultants in the finishing industry have all come together around the communities that we’ve built, and the results have been amazing.

We’ve seen so many great comments and suggestions, and such excellent feedback on our products and services that we wanted to send out one big ‘Thank You!’ to all of our blog readers, Facebook fans, Twitter followers, and LinkedIn connections for your support and for your eagerness to interact with us!

We’re overwhelmed to see that the GFS Booth Blog and our Finishing Academy have been read in over 100 countries in the five months they’ve been published online. Our group on Facebook is nearly 500 strong, and our Twitter followers are approaching 300, and still consistently growing one year of being created.

GFS has used these tools to share with you our expertise through advice articles, tips and tricks, and the vast educational resource that is our Finishing Academy. We’ve also used them to share awesome pictures of GFS installations of all types all across North America, from automotive body shops, to wind turbine manufacturers, to F-35 and C-17 aircraft paint facilities. We’ve shared critical information on industry regulations such as the EPA 6H rule and NFPA-33. We’ve shared local projects that we’ve completed for the area surrounding our Osseo, WI head office, such as the GFS-manufactured foot bridges for a local park.

We sincerely hope that you all have benefited in some way from the information we’ve shared in these online communities. We do our best will continue to provide our best advice and knowledge, the best tips and tricks, the best resources, the coolest images and videos, and information on all the best industry events. We hope that you’ll continue to communicate with us in these communities, and continue to provide the same excellent feedback and comments that allow us to be better at everything we do. Thanks again, and we look forward to talking with you again soon!
